Nursing Home Covid-19 Updates

September 17, 2020 – We have been very blessed today to have received back all resident Covid test results from our September 14th testing round and all 71 residents were negative. We will do a second round of testing of all residents today and post those results here as soon as we receive them back.

September 15, 2020 - We completed our first round of resident Covid testing yesterday and will post a summary of those results as soon as we receive them. Yesterday we implemented several mitigating actions to prevent or reduce the risk of any possible Covid transmission. Those actions include but are not limited to the following - Continued daily monitoring of staff and residents for any symptoms - Increased surveillance Covid testing of both residents and nursing home staff - Promotion of social distancing - Continuation of mandated face masks for all nursing home staff - Limiting group activities and community dining to help maintain social distance - Ongoing efforts to clean and disinfect - Encouragement of continued increased hand hygiene - Compartmentalization of communities to insulate against exposure - Staff PPE (personal protective equipment, i.e. gowns, gloves, etc.) usage as recommended by CDC guidance.

September 14, 2020 - From our surveillance Covid-19 nursing home staff member testing done last week, we have had 120 staff members test negative and 1 staff member test positive. The staff member that tested positive has no symptoms of illness and has been isolated at home by the Madison County Health Department. The staff member will not be working until released to do so per CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - www.cdc.gov) guidance. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will be involved to oversee our testing and processes. As part of the new nursing home surveillance testing requirements that were started two weeks ago, we will now start testing residents. We will also be retesting all nursing home staff members this week. You will be notified individually and privately via phone of your loved one’s results along with any changes in their health condition. We believe open and transparent communication, balanced with protecting individual privacy is essential at this time. As such, we will continue to post a summary of the positive/negative test results here for both nursing home staff members and residents. We will be canceling patio visits for this week and reevaluating them weekly but window visits can still be scheduled. We are grateful for all of our dedicated staff members and their commitment to our residents.

September 8, 2020 - As of this date, we have not received any positive Covid-19 test results on any residents or nursing home staff members. If we get a positive result at any date, we will post an update here. New nursing home surveillance testing requirements were issued last week and we will be doing a second round of testing on our nursing home staff members this week. Thank you to all of our residents' family members and friends for your continued patience during these trying times.

September 4, 2020 - As of this date, we have not received any positive Covid-19 test results on any residents or nursing home staff members. If we get a positive result at any date, we will post an update here. New nursing home surveillance testing requirements were issued and we have started that process with our nursing home staff members this week. You will be notified if we receive any positive results of nursing home staff members. Thank you for your continued support.

August 27, 2020 - As of this date, we have not received any positive Covid-19 test results on any residents or staff members. If we get a positive result at any date, we will post an update here. If we get a positive result or when new surveillance testing requirements are issued, we will test residents and staff members based on that guidance. You will be notified individually and privately via phone of your loved one’s results along with any changes in their health condition. We will continue to provide real-time and straightforward information on what is occurring within our facility.
